Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated sourcing specialist to help our company build strong relationships with suppliers and maintain existing ones. Your responsibilities will include finding the best prices for goods, materials, and services, and advising upper-level staff on which suppliers to work with. You'll also need to keep our supplier database up-to-date and find new suppliers if needed.

To be successful in this role, you should be able to work with different departments to keep costs within budget. A great sourcing specialist will also come up with new ideas to improve our sourcing strategies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Finding and maintaining relationships with new and current suppliers
  • Implementing strategies to optimize inventory
  • Gathering quotes from different suppliers
  • Negotiating prices, quantities, and delivery schedules with suppliers
  • Working with our legal team to ensure all contracts have the necessary details
  • Analyzing quotes and creating detailed cost breakdowns
  • Comparing quotes and helping select the best supplier for our company
  • Suggesting ways to improve our spending and outsourcing practices

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or a related field
  • Proven experience with sourcing processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Good understanding of sourcing methods
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent time-management and organizational abilities
