Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Check that signs meet client specifications for spelling, font, size, and material.
  • Safely load and transport signs, tools, and materials to the installation location.
  • Prepare the installation site by removing old signs, prepping the surface or structure, and connecting electrical elements.
  • Accurately measure, position, connect, and install the sign.
  • Follow all safety protocols while mounting and installing signs.
  • Clean up debris and materials after each installation.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on signs as needed.
  • Use and maintain tools and equipment according to safety guidelines.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Journeyman electrician license.
  • At least two years of experience as a sign installer or similar role.
  • A valid commercial driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Good knowledge of various types of signs, including vinyl, channel letters, electrical signs, and road signs.
  • Thorough understanding of installation methods, materials, and safety measures.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Physically fit and able to perform physically demanding tasks like lifting, climbing, and working at heights.
  • Willingness to work in harsh weather conditions.
  • Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
