We are looking for a talented and hardworking set designer to join our production team. Your responsibilities will include analyzing scripts, working with the director, researching historical and architectural details, estimating costs and time, and ensuring that all sets are safe. You should be able to collaborate well with different creative teams and stay motivated even during long work hours.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Read scripts and work with the director to plan and design the set using sketches and software.
- Coordinate with other teams, like costumes, props, make-up, lighting, and camera, to confirm set details.
- Delegate tasks, create schedules, and order materials needed for the set.
- Research historical, architectural, and cultural details to incorporate into the set.
- Oversee set construction and communicate with set builders.
- Select lighting, furniture, wall and floor coverings, and other props for the set.
- Create models for the director's approval and make changes as needed.
- Estimate costs and negotiate with vendors to get the best deals.
- Check stage entrances and exits to make sure the set is positioned correctly, and do quality control on all aspects of the set.
- Brief crew and actors on safety measures and how to use the set.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A degree in art or a related field is preferred.
- Completed apprenticeships may also be considered.
- Additional courses in film, theatre, performing arts, TV, or design are a plus.
- Extensive experience working in film, theatre, or television.
- Knowledge of 3D design, architecture, or interior design is beneficial.
- Excellent creative thinking and time management skills.
- A good eye for detail and the ability to come up with multiple ideas.
