A Service Engineer, also known as a Maintenance Engineer, is responsible for repairing and maintaining equipment, machines, and other products. They can work independently or as part of a team.
Job Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and deadline-driven Service Engineer to join our company. Your main responsibilities will include fixing problems, servicing equipment, creating maintenance plans, and updating user manuals. It is important to provide friendly and efficient service at all times.
To be successful in this role, you should have knowledge of machines and be open to receiving feedback. A great Service Engineer will also be resourceful and have excellent active listening and problem-solving skills.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Using different strategies and tools to find effective solutions for customer concerns.
- Communicating with clients, engineers, and other technicians to ensure effective service delivery.
- Responding promptly to service requests and providing feedback to customers.
- Monitoring equipment and machinery performance and developing preventative maintenance plans.
- Performing quality assurance and safety checks on all equipment.
- Providing demonstrations to educate customers on safe and effective equipment use.
- Suggesting new features and product improvements.
- Managing inventory and restocking materials as needed.
- Staying updated on industry developments through research and attending workshops.
- Writing reports and presenting findings to managers and supervisors regularly.
Requirements and Qualifications
- An associate's degree in engineering or a related field.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering is preferred.
- A relevant certificate or license is a plus.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
- Excellent active listening and customer service skills.
- The ability to handle multiple requests without feeling overwhelmed.
- The ability to remain professional under pressure.
- A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
