Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented senior accountant to handle accounting tasks in our company. This includes preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, maintaining the general ledger, filing tax returns, assisting with audits, and completing other accounting tasks as needed.

To excel in this role, you should have a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and possess excellent financial analysis skills. You should also be proficient in using Excel, be highly organized, and have the ability to work independently and under pressure.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate accounting activities and programs
  • Prepare financial reports and analyses
  • Forecast revenue and manage expenses
  • Assist with creating and monitoring budgets
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts
  • Assist with annual audits
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies and noncompliance issues
  • File federal, state, local, and special tax returns
  • Contribute to developing new accounting systems and procedures
  • Support junior staff and perform other accounting tasks as needed

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • At least 3 years of accounting experience
  • Familiarity with tax laws and GAAP
  • Strong financial analysis skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and stress management abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Ability to train and manage staff
  • Able to work independently and under pressure
