Job Description
We are seeking a school nurse to oversee the healthcare of our students and staff. This person will educate students on topics like nutrition and health and implement health-related initiatives in the school.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Use available resources to provide appropriate healthcare to students and staff
- Check student and staff immunization records, if needed
- Promote wellness by offering preventative healthcare services like immunizations
- Create and implement health plans for students with specific health needs
- Conduct health assessments and screenings for vision, hearing, growth, and development issues
- Establish protocols and procedures for managing emergencies
- Make referrals for students who need additional support for their health concerns
- Provide ongoing health counseling to students, parents, and staff
- Complete necessary medical paperwork
- Attend school meetings as required
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field
- Passing score on the national exam for registered nurses (NCLEX-RN)
- Certification from the National Board for Certification of School Nurses (NBCSN)
- Membership in the National Association of School Nurses (NASN)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
