Job Description

We are looking for an efficient roofer to join our team. As a roofer, you will be responsible for repairing existing roofing systems and installing new ones when needed. This includes removing any hazards from roofs, setting up barricades and warning lines, and performing necessary maintenance tasks. You should also be able to provide guidance to unskilled workers.

To be successful in this role, you should maintain good relationships with clients and other contractors. Safety is always a top priority, so you must adhere to all safety standards and procedures at all times.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect the structure of roofs to determine the best course of action
  • Provide clients with estimates for labor and materials needed for roofing projects
  • Measure and cut materials to fit securely around vents, gutters, chimneys, and walls
  • Prepare roof surfaces for new shingles or waterproofing by smoothing out rough spots
  • Replace damaged or rotting areas of roofs
  • Install vapor barriers and insulation to create a waterproof seal
  • Safely set up ladders, scaffolding, and hoisting equipment as needed
  • Provide progress updates and report any issues to supervisor
  • Transport equipment and materials to job sites safely

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • State roofer's license
  • Experience in roofing or general construction
  • Knowledge of different roofing systems
  • Familiarity with business ordinances
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and use powered hand tools
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
