We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated respiratory care practitioner to help diagnose and treat respiratory issues such as emphysema, pneumonia, and heart and lung disorders. This role involves diagnosing and treating chronic respiratory conditions, prescribing medications, and providing guidance on managing these illnesses.
To be successful in this role, you should have strong diagnostic, analytical, and critical thinking skills. You should also have a passion for providing excellent care to patients and possess effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnosing and treating conditions that affect the lungs, brain, cardiovascular system, and digestive system, such as hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease.
- Treating breathing disorders, sleep disorders, severe allergies, and other lung conditions.
- Conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, reviewing patients' medical histories, and assessing their exposure to hazards like asbestos and tobacco smoke.
- Performing specialized procedures to obtain samples from the lungs or chest wall lining.
- Evaluating patients' ability to handle the stress of surgery, collaborating with surgeons to develop breathing management strategies, and monitoring patients during surgeries.
- Providing surgeons with information about patients' risk levels and suggesting appropriate interventions.
- Administering immunizations to protect patients from diseases.
- Consulting with other physicians.
- Researching, testing, and developing new medications and treatments.
- Using innovative techniques from other medical fields, such as fine needle biopsies and stent implants, to keep airways open.
Requirements and Qualifications
