Job Description
We are looking for someone to join our team as a ramp agent. Your main job will be helping flights stay on schedule by keeping track of shipped items, moving baggage and cargo onto and off of planes, and guiding planes to and from their gates.
To be a good ramp agent, you need to work hard to make sure planes are ready for their flights. This means using special equipment like stairs, baggage carts, and tow vehicles to help the planes.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Directing planes to and from their gates and helping them take off.
- Parking planes that arrive and leave.
- Placing blocks and markers around planes.
- Loading and unloading cargo, baggage, and mail onto carts.
- Handling special items like animals or dangerous goods.
- Taking baggage to the baggage claim area and unloading it onto the conveyor belt.
- Cleaning and restocking the plane's cabin.
- Using equipment like stairs, loaders, and trucks to help with plane maintenance.
- Telling a supervisor if any equipment isn't working properly.
- Following all safety rules and airport security procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A high school diploma is preferred.
- Previous experience working at an airport is a plus.
- Completing a training program for ramp services is necessary.
- You need a valid driver's license.
- You must have a U.S. Customs Seal to work in secure areas.
- You should know how to lift heavy things safely.
- Experience with animals and dangerous goods is helpful.
