Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated public health nurse to help provide community healthcare and create intervention plans. In this job, you will teach families about patient care, offer guidance on maternity and childcare, and educate people about preventing and controlling diseases.

To be successful, you should have experience providing healthcare to communities and be able to teach families about healthy habits and preventing diseases. You should also be able to coordinate interventions and make sure people have access to quality healthcare.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide healthcare and teach people about healthcare at homes and community clinics.
  • Create treatment and intervention plans based on healthcare assessments.
  • Teach families about patient care and how to live healthy lives.
  • Work with other healthcare professionals to coordinate treatment and recovery plans.
  • Offer guidance on maternity and childcare and help with interventions, when needed.
  • Administer immunization programs and promote preventing and controlling diseases.
  • Keep track of and restock medical supplies, and maintain medical equipment.
  • Keep patient records up-to-date and organized.
  • Participate in health education activities and stay informed about new developments in public health.
  • Regularly check and maintain vehicles and report any issues.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).
  • Must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Preferred to be an Advanced Public Health Nurse - Board Certified (APHN-BC).
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in electronic health record management systems, such as Nightingale Notes and Axxess.
  • Experience with assessing and treating patients, and coordinating interventions.
  • Ability to teach patients and their families about healthcare and preventing diseases.
  • Can manage supplies, travel, and maintain vehicles.
  • Knowledge of best practices in public healthcare and new advancements in the field.
  • Excellent communication skills for advising patients and their families.
