Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and adaptable psychometrist to conduct psychological assessments. Your responsibilities will include scheduling appointments, explaining the purpose of each test to clients, and scoring the results. You will also need to write reports that summarize your findings.

To be successful as a psychometrist, you must create a comfortable testing environment to get accurate results from clients. You may also need to make minor changes to tests to make sure they are appropriate for our clients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedule appointments and prepare a distraction-free testing space.
  • Make sure you have all the necessary tools before starting the tests.
  • Explain the purpose of each test to clients before beginning.
  • Administer and score tests following standardized procedures.
  • Modify or translate test items if needed.
  • Talk to clients about their results if necessary.
  • Score test results and compare them to appropriate standards.
  • Interpret data to determine if clients fall within normal or abnormal ranges.
  • Write reports summarizing the results and their implications.
  • Use the most up-to-date versions of tests unless otherwise specified.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in psychology with a focus on psychometry.
  • Preferably have a doctorate degree.
  • Must be licensed to practice as a psychometrist in your region.
  • Familiarity with data cleaning and analysis techniques.
  • Ability to create culturally sensitive tests.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Be able to recognize and respond to deception, anxiety, and discomfort in clients.
  • Strong report-writing abilities.
  • Thorough understanding of ethical considerations in the field.
