Job Description
We are looking for a talented plasterer to join our construction team and provide high-quality plastering services to our clients. This role involves providing quotes, communicating with clients, mixing materials, applying plaster, and reporting any building issues.
To be successful as a plasterer, you should have experience with both interior and exterior applications, be able to work independently, and understand the needs of our clients. An excellent plasterer should also have knowledge of different types of plaster, including wet and dry options, and be able to apply browning, bonding, thistle, carlite, and dri-coat as needed.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide accurate quotes to clients and other stakeholders for job costs.
- Communicate and collaborate with relevant stakeholders and clients to plan projects.
- Prepare surfaces for plastering by examining and priming them.
- Select the appropriate materials for plastering based on the specific site.
- Protect non-plaster surfaces with the necessary materials.
- Apply various types of plaster to both interior and exterior surfaces.
- Fix and repair previous plaster work when needed.
- Report any structural issues to the site foreman.
- Mix and prepare mortar, plaster, and other finishes.
- Coordinate with other contractors to ensure project deadlines are met.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Completion of a trade school program or apprenticeship with a certified plasterer or builder.
- At least one year of experience as a plasterer or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of different plastering techniques and materials.
- Strong communication and professionalism skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team, sometimes in harsh weather conditions.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with material purchasing processes is a plus.
- Experience providing plastering quotes and cost estimates to team members.
- Proficiency in using various types of plastering materials.
- Knowledge of decorative plastering and design is preferred.
