Job Description
We are looking for an experienced physiatrist to join our team. You will work with patients to improve their physical function and overall quality of life. This may include treating patients with disabilities caused by diseases, disorders, or injuries.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Examine patients who need physical therapy.
- Diagnose pain from injuries, diseases, or disabilities.
- Create and implement treatment plans for patients.
- Perform medical procedures, such as disc decompression or prolotherapy, to reduce pain and improve function.
- Lead a team of medical professionals, like physical therapists, to provide the best care for patients.
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Provide tools and resources to help patients improve their overall health and physical functioning.
- Counsel patients and families, and help them adjust to lifestyle changes.
- Support and advise patients receiving long-term care.
- Conduct research to improve treatments for injuries, diseases, and disabilities.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor?s degree in biology, physical sciences, or a related field.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- 4-7 years of internship and residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
- Passing scores on the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or the Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Examination of the United States (COMLEX-USA).
- Certification by The American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR).
- Active and valid medical license in the state where you will practice.
- Knowledge of different rehabilitation treatments and programs for various disabilities.
- Attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Great bedside manner and communication skills.
