Job Description
Our legal practice is looking for a paralegal to join our team. Your main responsibilities will include preparing legal documents, organizing files, and assisting with tasks related to trials. To do this job well, you should be comfortable using Microsoft Office and able to work well in a busy, team-oriented environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare legal documents for attorneys, like affidavits and correspondence.
- Organize and maintain files, either on paper or electronically.
- Meet with clients, lawyers, and other professionals to discuss case details.
- File documents with the court clerk.
- Help prepare for trials by organizing exhibits and other tasks as needed.
- Research laws and facts related to cases, using public records and other resources.
- Manage the daily activities of the law office, including delivering subpoenas.
- Keep the law library up-to-date.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Complete an ABA-approved paralegal certification program or have an associate degree in paralegal studies.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Have strong communication and organizational skills.
- Be able to manage multiple tasks and work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Have previous office administration experience.
