Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and qualified optometrist to join our growing practice. As an optometrist, you will use your expertise to provide high-quality vision care to our patients. This includes performing eye examinations, prescribing glasses or contact lenses, and determining a patient's visual abilities.

To be considered for this position, you must have a state-issued license and a thorough understanding of eye-related disorders and their treatments. The ideal candidate will also have excellent communication skills and a strong focus on customer service.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough routine eye exams
  • Evaluate a patient's visual abilities, field of vision, and hand-eye coordination
  • Diagnose common sight problems, such as nearsightedness and color blindness
  • Prescribe corrective lenses or medications as needed
  • Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
  • Educate patients on proper eye care techniques to promote eye health
  • Identify and assess more serious eye conditions, such as diabetes or liver failure
  • Record all diagnoses and treatment plans, including referrals and prescriptions

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
  • State-issued license for Optometry and O.D.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an optometrist
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough understanding of eye-related disorders and treatments
  • Customer service oriented with strong analytical skills
