An MRI technician is a healthcare professional who operates MRI scanners to take images of patients' bodies for diagnostic testing. This job is also known as MRI technologist. The main responsibility of an MRI technician is to provide clear images to physicians so they can accurately diagnose patients.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MRI technician to provide clear images to physicians through MRI scanning. The responsibilities of an MRI technician include following physicians' instructions, explaining the MRI procedure to patients, selecting software options and imaging parameters on the MRI machine, viewing images from the imaging session, and keeping accurate records.

To be successful in this role, you should have strong communication and interpersonal skills, be sensitive to the needs of patients, and have attention to detail. Teamwork is also important for this position.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Explain the MRI process to patients and ensure they comply with all safety standards.
  • Position and possibly sedate patients to capture clear images of the correct area of the body.
  • Remove and replace IVs and catheters for the MRI process.
  • Maneuver the MRI equipment and position it to capture the correct images.
  • Monitor patients during scanning and maintain their records.
  • Monitor MRI equipment functions.
  • Ensure clear images for physicians to provide accurate diagnoses.
  • Recognize abnormalities and irregularities in images.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • An Associate's degree in MRI or radiology technology.
  • Experience with MRI equipment and patient care is advantageous.
  • A license and certification to work as an MRI technician.
  • Attention to detail, mathematical skills, and technical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
