Job Description

We are looking for a skilled mobile phlebotomist to travel to specific locations and draw blood samples from patients. Your responsibilities will include maintaining a clean and safe work environment, preparing patients for blood draws, and monitoring their vital signs. Before beginning the procedure, you will also discuss any allergies or fears with the patient to ensure their comfort.

To be successful in this role, you should pay close attention to detail and have a good understanding of standard blood drawing practices and safety procedures. Additionally, you should have excellent communication skills and be able to perform blood draws without causing harm to patients.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Traveling to designated locations to draw blood samples as needed
  • Obtaining necessary information from patients and verifying their identity
  • Cleaning the skin where the blood will be drawn
  • Finding suitable veins and using clean needles to draw blood
  • Covering the puncture site with gauze or a bandage
  • Properly disposing of used needles and other materials
  • Storing blood samples according to established guidelines
  • Labeling blood samples accurately
  • Keeping detailed records of patients and any issues that may affect test results
  • Transporting blood samples to the laboratory for testing

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a phlebotomy program
  • Bachelor's or associate's degree in a medical field preferred
  • Certification through an accredited organization, such as ASCP, National Healthcareer Association, or AMT
  • Valid driver's license
  • Prior experience drawing blood samples
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
