We are seeking a skilled medical transcriptionist to transcribe voice recordings of medical consultations and procedures. Your responsibilities will include transcribing audio files, editing transcripts generated by speech recognition software, and formatting the reports. You may also be required to enter medical reports into electronic health record systems.
To be successful in this role, you should have extensive experience in medical transcription and a strong understanding of medical terminology. The ideal candidate will also have advanced proficiency in transcribing with specialized equipment and exceptional attention to detail.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Listen to recorded dictation from healthcare professionals.
- Use specialized transcription equipment, such as headsets and foot pedals.
- Edit and correct medical dictation generated by speech recognition software.
- Convert transcribed information into report formats.
- Ensure accurate and timely transcription to maintain patient care standards.
- Write out the full versions of medical abbreviations and acronyms.
- Identify and correct any inconsistencies or errors in the transcribed report.
