Job Description
We are looking for a friendly and experienced medical records clerk to join our administrative team at our medical facility. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including collecting patient information, issuing medical files, filing records, and managing patient admissions and discharges.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, administrative procedures, and excellent communication and organizational skills.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Gathering patient information, including personal and demographic data.
- Distributing medical files to authorized persons and agencies, following laws and regulations.
- Assisting with audits and investigations within the department.
- Delivering medical charts to the appropriate departments in the hospital.
- Maintaining accurate and high-quality records by following proper hospital procedures.
- Ensuring timely and accurate completion of patient charts, paperwork, and reports.
- Maintaining confidentiality and protecting all patient medical records.
- Filing all patient medical records and information.
- Providing necessary documents and forms to the nursing department.
- Completing clerical tasks, such as answering phones, responding to emails, and processing patient admission and discharge records.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and administrative procedures.
- Proficiency in information management programs and Microsoft Office.
