What does a Lead Toddler Teacher do?

A lead toddler teacher is responsible for helping young children who are not yet ready for kindergarten to learn and grow. They create lesson plans and oversee other teachers to make sure every student's needs are met.

We are looking for a friendly and organized lead toddler teacher to join our team. Your main role will be to create lesson plans and teach toddlers basic skills and knowledge. You will also supervise other teachers, keep track of students' progress, and make sure the classroom is a safe and positive learning environment.

To be successful in this role, you should be caring and able to handle stress well. Great lead toddler teachers also work with other school departments to help the school reach its goals, and stay up-to-date on new research about young children's development.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create lesson plans that meet the needs of young children.
  • Train, supervise, and guide other teachers.
  • Follow rules and laws to keep children safe and healthy.
  • Check how well students are doing in class.
  • Keep records of students' progress.
  • Build relationships with families to support each child's needs.
  • Lead meetings with staff and parents.
  • Plan and take part in team-building activities.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in early childhood education.
  • Valid state license or equivalent.
  • Experience making lesson plans for young children.
  • Past experience teaching young children.
  • Physically able to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Good at keeping things organized and connecting with people.
  • Able to lead and mentor others.
  • Willing to attend meetings in the evenings if needed.
  • A strong interest in early childhood education.
