Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented HVAC service technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our customers' air quality systems. This includes assisting with repairs and calibrations, as well as replacing components such as transformers, thermostats, and compressors. You will also be responsible for diagnosing problems, explaining them in simple terms to customers, and providing cost estimates and alternative solutions. In addition, you will be responsible for ordering and collecting necessary parts and communicating any challenges to your supervisor.

To be successful in this role, you should have strong customer service skills as well as technical expertise. You should also be organized, detail-oriented, and have a friendly demeanor.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cleaning, adjusting, and repairing HVAC systems, and performing warranty services.
  • Troubleshooting defective HVAC systems and equipment to make diagnoses.
  • Performing preventative maintenance by cleaning reheat coils and air handling units, and monitoring and calibrating air handling units.
  • Improving air quality by cleaning ducts to optimize efficiency.
  • Fixing, replacing, and adjusting vents and ductwork.
  • Ensuring condensation drain line is free of debris and draining properly.
  • Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
  • Keeping daily logs and records of maintenance functions.
  • Maintaining service truck.
  • Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Health and Safety Act.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of commercial HVAC experience.
  • Valid driver?s license and good driving record.
  • Proficient in electrical and mechanical diagnostics.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read schematics and work plans.
  • Flexibility to work after hours, weekends, and holidays with short notice.
  • Physically agile and able to work in confined spaces.
