Job Description
We are currently looking for a hostess to join our busy restaurant team. As a hostess, your main responsibilities will be to greet guests as they enter, show them to their table or waiting area, and make sure they are satisfied with their meal. This role requires you to be comfortable standing for long periods and working in a fast-paced environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Greeting guests as they enter the restaurant and managing a waiting list if necessary.
- Providing guests with menus and answering any initial questions they may have.
- Seating guests at tables or in waiting areas.
- Assigning guests to tables, considering table rotation to ensure servers have a balanced workload.
- Engaging with guests to ensure they are satisfied with their food and service.
- Addressing any complaints and helping to resolve them.
- Answering phone calls, taking reservations, and providing information about the restaurant.
- Having a good understanding of the menu.
- Assisting with other tasks in the restaurant as needed.
- Providing excellent customer service.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and ability to work well with other restaurant staff.
- Able to work independently and efficiently.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Capable of safely carrying and handling trays of food.
- Willing to ask questions for clarification when needed.
- Experience handling money and using a point-of-sale system.
- Able to work in a busy restaurant environment.
- Prior restaurant experience is a plus.
