Job Description

We are looking for an energetic groundskeeper to keep our institution's outdoor areas looking good and working properly. This includes maintaining lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, paths, walls, and turf. The groundskeeper will also use chemicals and fertilizers to keep the plants healthy. They will make sure the grounds are free from litter, debris, and pests. They will also take care of equipment and order supplies when needed.

In order to be successful in this role, you need to make sure the grounds always look nice and that the equipment is well-maintained. The best candidates for this job are hard-working, careful, and patient.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the appearance of the outdoor areas.
  • Taking care of lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, turf, and irrigation systems.
  • Fertilizing plants and spreading mulch.
  • Trimming trees, hedges, and shrubs and getting rid of weeds.
  • Using hand tools like loppers, saws, and shovels correctly.
  • Using trucks and power tools and keeping them in good condition.
  • Using chemicals and fertilizers to treat plant diseases.
  • Keeping the outdoor areas clean and tidy and emptying trash cans.
  • Checking irrigation systems and doing basic repairs.
  • Removing snow with a shovel or snow blower.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a groundskeeper or in a similar job.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Able to use manual and power tools safely.
  • Not allergic to anything that would affect the job.
  • Able to follow instructions.
  • Willing to work extra hours.
  • Comfortable with sending emails.
  • Physically fit and agile.
