Job Description
We are looking for a talented and professional glazier to join our team. Your main responsibilities will include measuring, cutting, and installing glass fittings in homes and businesses. This will involve using blueprints to cut glass to specific sizes, assembling and fitting glass in various structures, and working with different types of glass and tools.
To succeed as a glazier, you should have a good understanding of the glass manufacturing process, excellent hand-eye coordination, and the ability to lift heavy objects. You should also have strong communication skills and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine the shape, size, color, and thickness of glass needed for different projects.
- Measure and mark lines or patterns on glass before cutting.
- Cut glass to specific sizes and shapes, both in the workshop and on-site.
- Install anti-glare film on glass, if required.
- Load glass and materials onto delivery trucks and transport them to job sites.
- Fabricate and install moldings for glass installation.
- Remove broken glass and prepare the area for new installation.
- Use hoists or cranes with suction cups to lift heavy glass units.
- Clean the job area once the glass has been installed and the client is satisfied.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid glazier certification from the National Glass Association.
- At least 3 years of experience working as a glazier or commercial glazier.
- Ability to lift heavy objects.
- Attention to detail and strong hand-eye coordination.
- Excellent communication skills.
