Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Collecting, studying, and saving information about places on Earth based on what our clients need.
- Using special tools and computer programs to learn about things on Earth.
- Figuring out important details from the information and using special ways to solve problems related to intelligence.
- Studying places on Earth for defense work.
- Keeping track of changes to the Earth and damage from natural disasters to understand how the environment is doing.
- Separating the information into different groups to fit the needs of our clients.
- Writing reports about what you learn from your study of places on Earth.
- Explaining the important information in a way that is easy to understand in meetings and presentations.
- Researching and making products related to places on Earth for our company and to sell to others.
- Making information ready to use in computer systems that show maps and other types of information about places on Earth.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A college degree in geographic information systems or a similar field; a higher-level degree is preferred.
- Experience working with maps or making drawings.
- If you have been in the military, you need to have gone through 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and 22 weeks of Advanced Individual Training to work in this field.
- Being really good at solving problems and using your mind.
- Knowing a lot about the tools and computer programs used for studying places on Earth.
- Being good at math, computers, and design.
- Having great teamwork, communication, and social skills.
