We are looking for a forensic analyst to help us investigate crimes by examining evidence. As a forensic analyst, you will analyze evidence from crime scenes, visit crime scenes, and provide testimony in court cases.
To be a successful forensic analyst, you should have a good understanding of laboratory procedures, be able to communicate well both verbally and in writing, and have excellent analytical skills. It's also important to be able to keep information confidential, have strong research skills, and be careful and tactful.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assisting crime scene investigators by examining and analyzing evidence such as blood, hairs, fingerprints, and firearms.
- Collecting evidence or conducting field tests at crime scenes.
- Recording and documenting findings from tests.
- Preparing reports on findings.
- Advising law enforcement and judges based on findings.
- Keeping laboratory tools clean and in good working condition.
- Testifying in court as a witness.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A degree in genetics, forensic sciences, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a forensic analyst.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Impartial and able to keep information confidential.
