A floral designer is someone who creates beautiful arrangements of real or artificial flowers for special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, and funerals. They can work independently or in floral shops or grocery stores.

Job Description

We are looking for a talented and creative floral designer to design, create, and sell both standard and customized floral arrangements to our customers. Your main responsibilities will include helping customers choose the right floral arrangements, wrapping completed arrangements, organizing deliveries, and keeping the shop clean and organized. You may also be required to participate in exhibitions to attract more customers.

To be successful in this role, you should stay updated on the latest trends and styles in floral design. You should also have excellent organizational skills and make sure that all orders are delivered to customers on time.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Properly watering and storing flowers to keep them fresh and prevent wilting
  • Selecting and arranging flowers and decorative items to create beautiful floral arrangements
  • Assisting in-store customers and processing payments
  • Maintaining an adequate supply of wires, foams, ribbons, tapes, and other decorative supplies
  • Ordering fresh flowers from wholesalers and growers as needed
  • Keeping accurate records of floral orders, special requests, and delivery information
  • Advising customers on how to care for their floral arrangements
  • Consulting with clients to understand their preferences before creating customized arrangements

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Optional certification from the American Institute of Floral Designers
  • Previous experience in floral design
  • Knowledge of different types of flowers, arrangement styles, and flower care
