We need someone who is very organized and good with numbers to be a fleet manager. This person will help find good drivers to work for us, keep track of when the vehicles need to be serviced and make a plan for regular maintenance to keep everything running smoothly.

The fleet manager will also need to make sure the drivers are working efficiently and make decisions about how to manage them.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Buy and take care of vehicles for transportation.
  • Decide whether to rent or buy vehicles.
  • Find good drivers to work for us.
  • Make schedules for drivers to make the most money.
  • Manage drivers to make sure they stick to their schedule.
  • Register and get licenses for all the vehicles we use.
  • Find ways to save money and make more money.
  • Create plans to use less fuel.
  • Keep track of when the vehicles need to be serviced and checked.
  • Follow laws and rules from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
  • Make sure the vehicles are serviced regularly to keep them working well.
  • Make sure the vehicles are serviced quickly so they don't disrupt our schedule.
  • Watch how the drivers act and make sure they treat our customers well.
  • Look at data to figure out how to make our business work better.
  • Use GPS to keep track of the drivers and vehicles in case something happens.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Have a degree in logistics or accounting.
  • 2 or more years of experience working with logistics.
  • Experience in the transportation industry.
  • Be very organized.
  • Be good at solving problems and looking at data.
  • Be good with numbers.
  • Pay close attention to details.
  • Be friendly and good at talking to people.
  • Be able to write and speak well.
