Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing emotional, physical, moral, and educational support to the mother, especially when other family members are not available.
- Listening to the mother's concerns and questions in a nonjudgmental way and giving the best advice possible.
- Attending meetings with the mother before birth to get to know her and understand her preferences and needs.
- Staying with the mother during labor and providing support during and after childbirth.
- Visiting the mother's home after she has been discharged from the hospital and helping with the baby's care while she recovers.
- Offering practical support and advice after childbirth, such as helping with the nursery, running errands, and assisting with breastfeeding and meal preparation.
- Staying updated on childbirth support, birthing techniques, and prenatal and postnatal care by doing research, connecting with other doulas and mothers, and attending workshops and lectures.
- Assisting in any way possible to make the transition to motherhood smoother.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Prior experience with childbirth.
