Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic Director of Development to join our team and help us secure financial support for our organization. In this role, you will set and meet fundraising goals, stay updated on the interests of donors, and build relationships with employees and volunteers. You will also participate in fundraising events, plan vision trips, and maintain a social media presence.
The ideal candidate will build strong and lasting relationships with donors, and keep them informed about how their contributions are making a positive impact. We are seeking someone who is self-motivated, able to meet deadlines, and can handle multiple tasks at once.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with the board of directors to create and implement a fundraising plan.
- Collaborate with the communications team to develop a digital fundraising strategy.
- Provide regular progress reports to the board.
- Build relationships with new donors through networking.
- Maintain relationships with current sponsors.
- Solicit financial support from individuals and organizations.
- Manage fundraising events and special projects.
- Create development materials, such as grants and case statements.
- Implement development software.
- Manage staff responsible for data entry and gift processing.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, nonprofit management, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in sales or business development.
- Proficient in soliciting sponsorships.
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
- Knowledge of social media platforms.
- Understanding of best practices in fundraising.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently.
- Flexibility to travel, work weekends and evenings.
- Valid driver's license.
