Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Researching and acquiring new pieces for the collection
- Designing displays and exhibits
- Properly storing pieces that are not currently on display
- Negotiating purchases and loans
- Raising funds and obtaining grants to expand the collection, update facilities, or support research efforts
- Updating websites to showcase new attractions
- Hiring, training, and managing staff members
- Handling business tasks such as budgeting, marketing, and representing the organization at public events
