Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Use computerized tomography equipment to take images of a patient's internal structures.
- Position patients correctly to scan specific areas of their bodies.
- Perform routine warm-ups on the CT scanner to prolong its lifespan.
- Sterilize radiologic equipment for patient safety.
- Interpret doctors' instructions for scans.
- Administer contrast agents to enhance image visibility.
- Evaluate scans for quality.
- Explain procedures to patients and provide support as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's or associate's degree in radiologic technology.
- State license to work as a CT technologist.
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Proven experience as a CT technologist.
- CPR and BLS certification.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Strong technical skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
