A construction manager oversees building projects from start to finish, working with project managers, architects, and engineers. They ensure the project is completed on time and within budget, while also complying with regulations.

Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized construction manager to lead our building project. In this role, you will meet with project partners, manage supervisors and teams, and ensure all objectives and standards are met. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting any issues that arise and ensuring all necessary equipment and materials are available on-site.

To succeed in this role, you must effectively plan and prioritize tasks to meet project objectives and deadlines. Strong delegation skills are also important, as well as the ability to identify and address critical aspects of the project while managing other tasks.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Meet regularly with engineers, architects, and contractors to discuss project objectives and progress
  • Manage and motivate site foremen and teams
  • Ensure all necessary equipment is available on-site
  • Monitor budget costs for wages, contractors, materials, and equipment
  • Approve purchase requests
  • Keep the project on track and meet daily and weekly deadlines
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and other regulations
  • Issue necessary documents, such as SI's and VOs, to project management
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout the construction process

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management
  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, Projects, and CCS
  • At least 5 years of experience in construction site management
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of staff
  • Ability to resolve conflicts between project members and staff
  • Strong negotiation, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent leadership abilities
