Job Description

We are seeking an experienced concrete foreman to lead our team of concrete laborers and oversee the construction of concrete structures. This role involves evaluating the performance of laborers, staying within budget, and investigating any workplace accidents. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for managing project resources and equipment, as well as interpreting blueprints and enforcing safety regulations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervising all aspects of concrete construction, including preparation, placement, finishing, and curing.
  • Dividing projects into stages and estimating materials and labor needed for each stage.
  • Solving any problems that may arise during construction.
  • Consulting blueprints and drawings to ensure accurate placement and installation of concrete structures.
  • Assigning tasks to laborers and providing guidance.
  • Maintaining records of hours worked and materials used for each project.
  • Erecting and dismantling formwork and shoring according to engineering designs and drawings.
  • Inspecting concrete after formwork and shoring have been removed and instructing laborers on how to fix any defects.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's or associate's degree in construction management or related field preferred.
  • Certification through a recognized organization such as the American Institute of Constructors or Construction Management Association of America is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a concrete foreman.
  • Valid commercial driver's license.
  • Familiarity with estimation software.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
