Job Description

We are seeking an experienced concrete finisher who can skillfully work with concrete on various surfaces. This includes setting forms, cutting expansion joints, and using tools to pour, smooth, and level the concrete. You will also need to monitor the curing process and make adjustments as needed for a high-quality finish.

To be successful in this role, you should have the necessary skills and knowledge of current concrete techniques. You may be required to work shifts, weekends, and nights, and should be physically fit to handle the demands of the job, including standing for long periods, lifting heavy materials, and working in varying weather conditions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set forms to hold the concrete in place.
  • Inspect and clean surfaces before pouring.
  • Direct the concrete pouring process with the truck driver.
  • Use tools such as rakes, trowels, floats, and screeds to pour, smooth, and level the concrete.
  • Monitor the weather's impact on the curing process.
  • Apply sealants and hardeners.
  • Safely operate power vibrators to compact the concrete.
  • Create expansion joints using joiners and edging tools.
  • Polish surfaces with power surfacing machines.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a concrete laborer or mason.
  • Ability to stand, lift, and kneel for extended periods.

  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends.
