What does a Compliance Specialist do?

A compliance specialist helps organizations make sure they are following all of the laws, rules, and policies that apply to them. They keep track of what the organization is doing, give advice to leaders and managers, and work with government agencies.

Job Description

We need a compliance specialist who has experience making sure organizations follow legal and regulatory standards, procedures, and policies. You will have to write down and evaluate what we are doing to make sure we are following the rules, teach our employees about following rules, handle complaints, and work with government agencies.

To be a good compliance specialist, you should be able to find problems and suggest ways to fix them. You should also be able to think carefully and keep very good records of complaints and what we are doing to follow the rules.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Talking with the legal team and giving advice to leaders and managers about following rules.
  • Creating and giving training to employees about following rules and how to report any problems.
  • Finding, looking into, and reporting any problems or rule-breaking.
  • Keeping track of and responding to complaints.
  • Writing down what we are doing to follow the rules.
  • Talking with government agencies.
  • Making and sending reports about how we are following the rules.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  • Being a Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professional (CRCMP) is good to have.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with rules and regulations.
  • Knowing about laws, legal codes, and other important rules.
  • Being good at using Microsoft Office.
  • Being able to think carefully and find problems.
  • Having good speaking and writing skills.
  • Being good at writing and keeping track of things.
  • Being very careful and paying attention to details.
