The main duties of this role include preparing meals, feeding children, helping them with bathing and hygiene, playing games and doing activities that are suitable for their age, taking them to social events, and assisting with homework for older children.
To be successful as a childcare worker, you must have a fondness for children, understand how they develop, be physically fit and able to take care of their basic needs, and know what to do in case of an emergency.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of children and meet their daily needs, such as changing diapers, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Interact with children in a positive way to boost their confidence and self-esteem.
- Keep children active and entertained with activities that help with their development.
- Handle misbehaving children in a constructive manner.
- Create and oversee daily schedules.
- Teach children good social skills, like communication and conflict resolution.
- Monitor and report any developmental or safety concerns.
Requirements and Qualifications

- Physical stamina to keep up with children all day.
