What does a CDL Driver do?
A CDL driver is someone who operates large vehicles, like trucks, to transport goods from one place to another. There are different types of CDL drivers depending on the weight and purpose of the vehicle they are driving.
Job Description
We are looking for a careful CDL driver to deliver goods to our clients, both near and far. As a CDL driver, your duties will include loading and packing goods, driving to clients, and returning to our base for the next delivery. It is important to follow all laws and regulations while performing your duties.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan out each delivery carefully
- Pack goods safely to prevent damage
- Keep truck fueled at all times
- Communicate with clients and manager about any delays
- Take breaks as needed during the journey
- Deliver goods on time
- Complete all necessary paperwork
- Pay tolls when required
- Keep track of expenses and submit proof for reimbursement
- Report any vehicle issues for immediate attention
Requirements and Qualifications
- A valid CDL license
- Previous experience with similar vehicles
- Comfortable using GPS equipment
- Physically fit to operate the truck
- Knowledge of and adherence to road and transport regulations
- Ability to drive safely in all weather and at any time of day
- Excellent time management, communication, and administrative skills
- Strong stamina and ability to work long hours if needed
