Job Description

We are looking for a kind and organized carer to support the wellbeing of our residents. The carer will work with residents and their support systems to determine their care needs and then help with household tasks like cleaning, feeding, and transportation. They may also help residents remember to take their medication.

To be successful as a carer, you should have a respectful and positive attitude and be able to adapt to the changing needs of the person you are caring for. A great carer will also be able to recognize and minimize any mental difficulties the resident may experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Talking to family and medical professionals to understand the resident's care needs.
  • Running errands to make sure the house is well-stocked.
  • Preparing healthy meals and helping with feeding when needed.
  • Doing regular household chores and any extra tasks that come up.
  • Assisting residents with moving safely.
  • Removing any potential hazards from the living space.
  • Installing tools to help residents be more independent.
  • Making sure residents follow their treatment plan.
  • Providing emotional support as needed.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completed training in home-based caregiving.
  • Previous experience as a carer or in a similar role.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to observe and respond to the needs of the resident.
  • Compassionate, resourceful, and sensible.
  • Physically able to lift and move objects.
