Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic cardiology technician to join our team of medical professionals. In this role, you will perform tests such as EKGs, echocardiograms, and phonocardiograms on cardiology patients. You will also assist doctors during non-invasive procedures. It is important to have a strong understanding of medical technology and excellent communication skills in order to succeed in this position.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducting electrocardiogram (EKG), phonocardiogram, echocardiogram, and stress tests using electronic equipment.
  • Ensuring patients are comfortable and answering any questions they may have about the tests.
  • Recording and analyzing test results, and consulting with the physician on duty for further testing if necessary.
  • Assisting physicians during non-invasive procedures by monitoring patients' heart rates and alerting them to any abnormal readings.
  • Maintaining and cleaning cardiology equipment and supplies on a daily basis.
  • Keeping track of inventory and restocking supplies as needed.
  • Troubleshooting any issues with equipment and reporting malfunctions to superiors.
  • Staying up-to-date with advancements in cardiology by attending conferences and participating in research projects.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in cardiovascular technology.
  • At least 2 years of experience working as a cardiology technician.
  • In-depth knowledge of cardiovascular diseases, diagnosis, and treatment methods.
  • Familiarity with cardiology equipment, such as EKG machines.
  • Proven ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Strong understanding of medical standards, policies, and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with coworkers.
  • Outstanding bedside manner and interpersonal skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and effective problem-solving abilities.
