Job Description
We are looking for an experienced car porter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for moving and parking cars on our lot. Your main tasks will include keeping track of parked cars and making sure the parking lot looks clean and presentable.
To be successful as a car porter, you should have safe driving skills and experience working with customers at a car dealership. Most importantly, we need someone we can trust to take care of valuable cars.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Moving cars between different areas of the dealership, such as the display area, workshop, storage facility, and pick-up point.
- Driving carefully to prevent any damage to the cars and to protect dealership property.
- Keeping track of all the cars on the lot.
- Cleaning the inside and outside of the cars on the lot.
- Helping to keep the lot clean and organized.
- Running errands for the dealership off-site, if needed.
- Performing basic maintenance tasks, like changing batteries and filling up on gas, oil, and other fluids.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Demonstrable experience as a car porter or in a similar role.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Basic knowledge of car maintenance is a plus.
- Ability to take care of customers' valuable cars and dealership property.
- Willingness to learn and do a variety of tasks.
- Ability to keep accurate records of car movements and conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Availability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
