Job Description
We are looking for a friendly and energetic bartender with good communication skills to make classic cocktails and exciting new drinks for our customers. The bartender will greet customers, learn about their drink preferences, answer questions, suggest items from the menu, and make and serve drinks and food. They will also try to sell more items, create new drink recipes, use the right equipment and ingredients, and do basic cleaning tasks.
To be a successful bartender, you should look presentable and be outgoing and personable. You should also be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and good with people.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, talk to them to find out what they like to drink, suggest drinks, and take orders.
- Create drink menus and tell customers about new and special drinks.
- Pick and mix ingredients, put decorations on glasses, and give drinks to customers.
- Check IDs to make sure customers are old enough to drink alcohol.
- Count what we have and buy more things we need to make sure we have enough for the bar and tables.
- Follow all rules for safety and quality when handling food and drinks.
- Handle money from customers, make sure we charge the right amount, and give back the right change. Keep track of the money we make.
- Keep the work area and tables clean by throwing away trash, wiping tables, and washing glasses, plates, and other things we use to make drinks.
- Create new drink recipes.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Have a high school diploma.
- May need more education, training, certificates, or experience for this job.
- Must be old enough to serve alcohol according to state laws.
- Available to work at night, on weekends, and during holidays.
- Be friendly, outgoing, and dress nicely.
- Know basic math and how to use a computer.
- Be good at talking to and listening to people.
- Be good at managing time and tasks.
- Understand how to use tools and techniques for making drinks.
- Be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs for long periods of time.
