Job Description

We are looking for a skilled auto glass technician to repair or replace windshields, door and quarter glasses for our customers' vehicles. This involves letting customers know about any problems that could affect the glass, carefully removing damaged glass without causing more damage, completing paperwork, and keeping the work area clean and dry. You should also be able to decide whether a windshield needs to be repaired or completely replaced.

To do this job well, you should have good mechanical skills and follow safety rules when using dangerous materials. Above all, you should be able to communicate well with customers and provide excellent customer service.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Using a special primer to prepare damaged areas on windshields and car windows.
  • Protecting the glass by applying a treatment and putting rubber weather seals around the edges.
  • Traveling to different places to fix or replace windshields and windows.
  • Removing parts like moldings, wipers, and screws before and after repairing or replacing the glass.
  • Filling small chips or cracks with resin and using heat to fix them.
  • Noticing any issues that could affect the glass, like rust or damage to the car.
  • Cleaning the glass before starting repairs or treatments.
  • Using clips, moldings, and glue to attach new glass to the car.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Optional certification from the National Glass Association (NGA) for automotive glass repair and installation.
  • Experience working as an auto glass technician.
  • Good knowledge of how to repair and install car glass.
  • Strong mechanical skills.
