Job Description
We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented assistant controller to support our controller in preparing financial statements and reports, budget reports, and internal control systems. This role also includes managing payroll, accounts payable/receivable, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial audits. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently with integrity.
To excel as an assistant controller, you should have strong accounting skills and knowledge of relevant industry regulations. Being well-organized and a good manager is also important.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and consolidate financial statements and reports.
- Assist with developing and evaluating budgets and preparing budget reports.
- Support the implementation of control systems within the organization.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, and resolve any discrepancies.
- Assist the accounting department with general ledger tasks.
- Ensure strict compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Manage accounts using various software programs.
- Prepare and assist with audits.
- Stay updated on changes in regulations and compile reports on compliance issues and accounting practices.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Previous experience as an accountant, assistant controller, or in a similar role.
- Professional certification such as CPA, CFM, or CMA preferred.
- Excellent understanding of GAAP and relevant financial accounting regulations.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of accounting software programs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
