Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Check the credit of new and potential customers.
  • Follow the company's policies and regulations for collecting debts.
  • Set deadlines for invoicing and collecting payments.
  • Oversee the invoicing and payment collection processes.
  • Make sure payments are collected on time.
  • Negotiate with customers if they don't pay their bill.
  • Create monthly reports on payment collections.
  • Keep records of invoices, deposits, and any communication about payment collection.
  • Stay updated on any changes in laws or procedures related to debt collection.
  • Train and mentor staff in the department.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an accounts receivable manager or supervisor in retail sales.
  • Ability to work accurately and independently.
  • Experience with accounting software like Quickbooks and General Ledger, and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent report writing skills.
  • Effective time management and people management skills.
