The Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC) is a student-led organization dedicated to advocating for the interests and well-being of California community college students. With a strong focus on promoting student success and engagement, the SSCCC works tirelessly to ensure that all students have access to quality education and resources.
Founded in 1962, the SSCCC has a long history of representing and serving the diverse needs of the nearly 2.1 million students enrolled in California's 116 community colleges. Through its network of local student leaders, the SSCCC strives to bring student voices to the forefront of higher education policy-making and decision-making processes.
One of the key pillars of the SSCCC is its commitment to improving student access to education. This includes advocating for affordable tuition and fees, as well as supporting policies that remove barriers to entry for underrepresented and marginalized communities. The SSCCC also works to expand resources and support services for students, such as financial aid and mental health services, to ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed.
