Wireless System Test and QA Lead

Good understanding of electronic communication technology in general and particularly in Wireless Transmission as well as Automation scripting. Designs test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures. Documents software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers. Develops testing programs that address explicit and implicit requirements. Automates test cases and executes them. Participates in product design reviews to understand feature design and provide inputs on any gaps.

The responsibilities of this role include:

• Taking responsibility for System test Plan and making decisions with impact; Impact of decisions will be apparent in system quality, test efficiency and reduction in customer found defects(CFD).
• Using verbal and written communication skills to convey routine information of big picture and day-to-day activities to others who are collaborators, test engineers and technical stakeholders in the subject area.
• Scheduling to complete most tasks in efficient order, with some planning and prioritization, to reduce mistakes which may result in some rework.
• Exercising creativity to troubleshoot technical problems or deal with evolving circumstances.
• Using deductive problem solving to solve moderately complex problems, leveraging and/or defining processes for diagnosis/detection.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Understanding of upcoming Astrome GigaMesh products, the relevant RF modules, including modems, feature requirements [from the product team] and designing the functional test cases.
• Understand the requirements for all available sources like PRD, Change Requests, ETSI/FCC documentations, TEC-GR's, etc., and come up with test cases to test the requirements.
• Development of test script and appropriate platform for the identified test cases and execution. .
• Debug device logs to validate right configuration and other inputs parameters applied. Perform retests in collaboration with the testers team accordingly.
• Followup of tickets/ issues raised until proper closure.
• Train Test engineers to convey big picture and individual test information.

Requirements

• M.tech/MS/B.Tech/BE from Electronics and Communication Engineering
• 5-8 Yrs, for a bachelor degree. 3- 5 Yrs with Masters Degree
• Industry experience in testing of wireless silicon/Wireless systems/radios/Antennas within wireless communication systems.
• Understanding of communication theory and key wireless related metrics like receiver sensitivity, Transmit Power, Antenna gain, bit error rate, system noise figure etc.
• Experience using and understanding of the various test and measurement lab equipment (spectrum analyzer, signal generator, network analyzer, power meter)
• Experience debugging, test automation, drivers, automation scripts, etc.
• Exposure to RF/microwave testing in the Ku, Ka, and/or E-band frequency range
• Knowledge of digital communication systems, spread spectrum, single and multi-carrier techniques and modulation types such as QPSK, APSK and QAM
• Python and/or LabVIEW programming experience for test automation
