Position Overview:

Join Great Basin Industrial as a Welding Apprentice for a hands-on opportunity to learn the welding trade in a dynamic and supportive environment. This apprenticeship is designed for motivated and dedicated individuals seeking to build a career in the welding industry. Through both field and fabrication settings, apprentices will gain valuable experience and training while working closely with experienced welders and fabricators.

At Great Basin Industrial, we are committed to fostering a culture that emphasizes employee growth and development. As an apprentice, you will have the opportunity to learn essential welding techniques, safety protocols, and hands-on skills that will kickstart your career in the welding industry.

• Assist experienced welders in performing welding tasks, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding processes.
• Learn to prepare surfaces for welding, including cutting and grinding materials to specifications.
• Participate in the assembly of metal components and structures according to blueprints and technical drawings.
• Observe and assist in the inspection of welds for quality and adherence to specifications.
• Follow safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Engage in continuous learning and skill development through hands-on experience and training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong interest in a welding career and a desire to learn.
• Some prior experience or exposure to welding processes is preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
• Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude are beneficial.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
