Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting a Waste Certification Official (WCO) in Las Vegas, NV.

Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Waste Certification Officer to support our operations in Nevada. This role will play a critical part in ensuring compliance with Department of Energy (DOE) regulations and the Nevada waste process, contributing to safe and effective waste management.

  • Oversee waste certification activities to ensure compliance with DOE regulations and site-specific requirements.
  • Implement and maintain waste certification procedures, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local environmental laws.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop waste management plans for decontamination and decommissioning (D&D) projects.
  • Perform inspections and audits of waste packaging, labeling, and documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed records, reports, and certifications for waste disposal activities.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies, clients, and stakeholders as needed.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to team members on waste certification processes and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience working with the Department of Energy (DOE).
  • Knowledge of DOE waste management regulations and requirements.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience with decontamination and decommissioning (D&D) projects.
  • Familiarity with Nevada-specific waste processes and regulations.

Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
