Vice President of Finance

Prime Robotics is a rapidly growing warehouse automation company with operations in the U.S. and China. We design and deploy end-to-end robotic solutions that transform warehouse efficiency. With employees in the U.S. and China, and a China-based accountant already in place, we are preparing to scale with a Series A raise and are seeking a finance leader who can roll up their sleeves and build the financial foundation for our next growth phase.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an FP&A professional who thrives in the startup environment and enjoys both strategic finance work and day-to-day financial operations. As our VP of Finance, you'll directly manage everything from investor models and fundraising to running payroll and processing expenses. You'll have the opportunity to mature our financial processes while working closely with the CEO as the company's financial strategist. For the right candidate, there's a clear path to become CFO post-Series A.

What You'll Do Day-to-Day

Strategic Finance & Fundraising (40% of role)

• Build comprehensive financial models that tell our growth story to investors

• Create detailed valuation models, cap table scenarios, and funding strategy documents

• Prepare and present financial and operational metrics for board meetings and investor updates

• Partner with the CEO throughout the Series A process: crafting the pitch deck, managing due diligence, and helping close the round

• Develop KPIs and dashboards that drive business decisions across departments

• Analyze unit economics and pricing strategies to maximize profitability

Hands-On Financial Operations (40% of role)

• Personally manage day-to-day U.S. finance operations until we scale (yes, you'll run payroll and approve expenses!)

• Oversee accounts payable/receivable and ensure timely vendor payments and collections

• Manage cash flow and banking relationships

• Process employee expense reports and maintain expense policies

• Maintain and improve QuickBooks setup while planning for eventual ERP migration

• Lead month-end and quarter-end close processes

• Prepare management financial reports and analysis

• Manage employee equity grants and maintain cap table

• File required regulatory and compliance paperwork including FMLA, ACA, and other mandatory reporting

• Ensure compliance with tax filing requirements and deadlines across jurisdictions

Financial Process Development (20% of role)

• Design and implement scalable financial processes that will grow with the company

• Create financial SOPs, approval workflows, and controls that balance efficiency with compliance

• Build a financial foundation that can support international operations

• Develop product pricing frameworks and standardized cost structures

• Plan and implement systems upgrades that support scaling (payroll, expense management, reporting)

• Supervise and collaborate with our China-based accountant to ensure global financial alignment

Requirements

Who You Are

• An FP&A professional with 6-12 years of progressive finance experience who isn't afraid to handle both strategic and tactical finance work

• A startup veteran who has helped companies move from early stage to Series A/B funding rounds

• Someone who thrives wearing multiple hats and can adapt to changing priorities

• A finance leader with experience building models that have successfully attracted investment

• Detail-oriented with the ability to see both the forest and the trees

• A self-starter comfortable working in an environment without a pre-existing finance department

• A builder who enjoys creating systems and processes from the ground up

What You Bring

• Experience developing startup financial models, valuation models, and fundraising materials

• Hands-on knowledge of day-to-day finance operations (payroll, AP/AR, expense management)

• Experience filing and managing compliance paperwork including FMLA, ACA, and other regulatory requirements

• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting and financial reporting

• Track record of implementing financial systems and processes in growing companies

• Experience with investor relations and financial storytelling

• Proficiency with QuickBooks and financial modeling tools

• International finance experience (particularly with China) is a significant plus

• CPA or CFA helpful but not required - we value practical experience over certifications

Your Growth Path

• Base salary range: $140,000 $190,000 plus equity options

• Additional equity grant upon promotion to CFO

Qualification

Bachelor's Degree
